I hope you all had a wonderful spring break! My name is Richard Pankhurst and I live at 10519 Indigo Broom Loop with my wife, Cathy and our two children. I am the 2007 HOA President. We love Senna Hills and Austin, having relocated here more than 6 years ago from colder climates. We feel fortunate to be part of a growing community with great neighbors. In this letter I wanted to cover two topics: to thank the outgoing Board Members and President and to introduce the 2007 Senna Hills HOA Board and quickly review the role of the Board.
Thanks!
The 2006 Board and the Committee members did a phenomenal job. At the Annual Board Meeting, Gregg Kronenberger, the outgoing President thanked all those Board members, committee members and volunteers. In addition to echoing his comments at the Annual meeting, I wanted to thank Gregg. Gregg worked hard for the community last year, leading the Board in tackling several issues including a pool resurfacing, complex sprinkler refurbishment and the website launch. In addition, under Gregg’s leadership the Board was able to work together as a team to improve the neighborhood social schedule by empowering our social committee to run a full social calendar. Gregg will continue to serve as a Board Member for 2007.
The 2007 Board and Role of the HOA Board
The residents of Senna Hills are represented by the Board members
noted on "Resources" page of this website. Board members and committee
members are community volunteers serving the residents of Senna Hills.
There are many areas to participate and we always need help on the
committees to lead or assist in planning activities or events.
The Board’s main week-to-week & month-to-month concern is the
smooth operation of the common services of Senna Hills including the
amenities center, the pool, the playground, entrances and other common
areas. This includes maintaining security services, landscaping and
maintenance services for these areas within the budget of the HOA. The
Board also sponsors social events through the social committee to
continue to build a stronger sense of community. The Social Committee
has provided a full schedule for this year on pages 12 and 13.
Outside
of these items, the easiest way to understand the duties of the Board
is to read the Covenants. The Board is entrusted by the Home Owners to
enforce the covenants, a job we rarely have to do outside of the normal
architectural committee processes. In regards to the covenants we
appreciate open communication and please call, email or post to the
Yahoo! group with any concerns or questions. We can’t help with
everything but will help where appropriate.
I know the Board is looking forward to 2007 and hope that we can meet
many of you at some point during the year at a Board meeting, social
event, online or around the neighborhood.
Richard Pankhurst
President
